My Campaign’s Core Values

  • Increase Opportunities - With Deptford Schools ranking 6.1 out of 100 on the college readiness scale, it's clear that students aren't being set up for success beyond graduation. I will advocate for new academic programs, career pathways, and dual-credit opportunities to help every student thrive, whether they’re heading to college, a trade, or the workforce.

  • Strengthening Fiscal Responsibility - The current budget is bloated and filled with waste. By prioritizing careful budgeting and reducing wasteful spending, we can stretch the effectiveness of the budget. Allowing for more to be done with the same or even a smaller budget.

  • Maintaining Transportation Services - Access to education starts with being able to get to school. I will fight to protect and improve the free student transportation system, including our bus program, ensuring no child is left without a safe and reliable way to attend class

  • Guaranteeing No Students Go Hungry - No child should have to learn on an empty stomach. I will stand against any policy that denies students a meal due to unpaid lunch balances. If a student is in school and hungry, they should be fed.

  • Infuse Reading and Math - Test scores in Deptford show a clear need for stronger academic foundations. Only 28% of elementary and 31% of middle school students are proficient in math. Reading scores are also concerning, with just 34% of elementary and 35% of high school students proficient. I will push for a renewed focus on the basics like reading and math across all grade levels.

  • Increase School Safety - Every student deserves to feel safe in their learning environment. I will advocate a strong stance against bullying, fighting, and illegal substances. A student should remain focused on their education and not be concerned about getting assaulted and harassed.
